ESS 2025 Mini-Conference: People-ing Politics: Race, Class, and Culture in U.S. Politics

This mini-conference is aimed at bringing together sociologists, political scientists, and practitioners who study U.S. politics with attention to race, class, inequality, and the importance of social and cultural forces. Our research explores:

  • How people’s cultures and social groups shape their approach to politics

  • How issues of race, class, and other forms of inequality influence political engagement

  • How behind-the-scenes actors in political institutions impact politics
